Its 4 lowest reticle brightness settings are reserved for use with photo multiplier type Night Vision Devices (NVDs) Gen 1, 2, or 3, and are invisible to the unaided eye. The 6 higher settings are for use in transitional light and daylight, of which the maximum setting is the same extra bright setting found in the other Comp series sights.
